I have developed a very specific morning routine over the past few years. This is an approximation …some days I am faster than others. I really focus on this routine 5 days per week. I like to be a little less routine on the weekends.
My routine goes like this:
5:00am – Alarm
5:00-5:15 – Get up and use a tongue scraper, and brush my teeth.
5:15-5:20 – Drink a glass of warm water with fresh squeezed lemon and PlantPills Spermadine.
5:20-6:10 – Work out …this could be yoga, HIIT, run, walk, weights, etc… It varies throughout the year, but I try to be consistent with 30-50 minutes.
6:10-6:35 – Shower. I take a hot shower and finish with a cold rinse (as cold as my water will go). Then I get dressed and ready for work.
6:35-6:45 – Heat water for breakfast tea (I drink one cup of Rishi Pu’Er Tuo Cha tea every morning). I Make lunch while water heats. I use an electric tea kettle. It is fast and I can be precise on temperature. Tea replaced coffee for me and reduced my reliance on caffeine.
6:45-6:50 – Meditate for 5-7 minutes while tea steeps. This is my centering routine. I light a candle, put in my airpods with noise cancelling, turn on some meditation music from Brain.FM app and focus on the music and eliminate all thought (which is absurdly hard to do!)
6:50-7:10 – Read and drink tea.
7:10-7:15 – Make breakfast smoothie.
7:15-7:30 – Out the door for work. I drink my smoothie on the way to work.
Once I arrive at work I wash my smoothie cup, and fill my water bottle …then I get to work …typically just after 8am.
