I really enjoy post apocalyptic and science fiction books. Years ago I came across M.R. Forbes via the Bookbub email list. I would say I have finished about 70% of his books which you can find here.
Since I have been reading his books for an number of years it has been fun to see the universe grow, in particular in the Forgotten series. His books are easy to read and follow and take some twists and turns. I can get through his books quickly and I enjoy them. While they deal with typical and high tech issues I never feel bogged down in trying to understand very complex future tech. Some readers may want a lot more detail, but I enjoy the level of detail he puts in the books.
I just finished his latest book, Cassidy, which you can find very reasonably priced at Amazon.
This book felt like a cross between Cyber Punk 2077, The Matrix, and maybe something like Minority Report. I enjoyed the development of the characters and the story. While I had some suspicions about the ending it was not a giveaway and leaves the reader on quite a cliff hanger.
If you like science fiction and post apocalyptic action I highly recommend his books.
I don’t often start book series until they are done, but I feel I can count on M.R. Forbes to quickly deliver the next books in the series …so don’t be afraid to start with Cassidy. If you want a fully developed series I would read his Forgotten. He has a direct link to this series with the ideal reading order at the top of his website.
I have also read the Covenant, War Eternal, and Tears of Blood. I recommend them all.
Tears of Blood would be the only one that fits a different genre that felt more along the lines of the Shannara books.
